Glasshouse Tearoom

Our tearoom offers Members the opportunity to learn and practice their hospitality skills. Staff work closely with our Members to plan and prepare the offering each week, we try and use as much seasonal produce from the garden to create a real field to fork experience.

Members work in rotation, partnered up to benefit from peer to peer support. They learn skills around following recipes, being safe in the kitchen, handling money and communication.

These transferable skills can be applied to other areas of life and help to build and maintain independence.

"we have twice thoroughly enjoyed morning coffee and cakes at your thursday morning slot inside the walled garden. On both occasions our pleasure has been enhanced by the charming and efficient manner of our waitresses. We are most impressed with your ethos and kind and gentle manner and this is our way of showing admiration and appreciation for such an excellent initative. We also much enjoy the lively, well-tended garden.

Our thanks to all concerned "

Best wishes, Bob and Paula

Outward Project

Our outward project is a new venture taking our Members out into the community to carry out contact gardening work. Accompanied by our experience staff, Members will be supported to carry out tasks such as mowing, hedge cutting, clearing and weeding.

The project looks to take the skills our Member have learnt with us in the garden and apply them to new situations that broaden their horizons and create sustainable ventures that could help them move onto  supported employment. Our staff will support participants in small groups to carry out contract gardening and volunteer work in community spaces.

The initiative will not only benefit participants by offering meaningful work experience but also encourage community connections and promote inclusivity.

The skills the participants will develop including mowing, hedge trimming, and weeding, will enhance their independence and employability.

If you have a garden that you need help maintaining get in touch, we charge an hourly rate which covers our time, fuel and enables us to reinvest back into the project for tools and equipment.
