Karen Bleay - Centre Manager
Having joined Beyond The Wall in May 2019 I have now have the privilege of overseeing the day-to-day running of the centre. It's a beautiful place to work - why not pop in to our café and say hello?
I am passionate about every person feeling valued, cared about and safe; only then can they try new things with confidence and step outside of their comfort zone!
A qualified teacher, I taught in middle and primary schools for several years. I set up a science education business which I ran for five years. It was during this time that I first worked with adults with disabilities and found it to be fulfilling and something I naturally took to. In my previous role as Project Manager for The Befriending Scheme, I set up a care farm and also provided life skills training for our members.
Phill V-Williams - Lead Project Worker
As a project worker at Beyond the Wall, I am responsible for supporting people to maintain the walled garden and develop their horticulture skills and knowledge.
I have 15 years’ experience of working in support and education environments, numerous teaching qualifications and a qualified passion for horticulture.
I have a dedication to inclusion and equality, and have spent much of my life involved in promoting this through my work and numerous volunteering roles.
Lisa Dennis - Support Worker
As a project worker at Beyond the Wall, I am responsible for promoting everyday life skills, and encouraging independence and diversity.
I have been working in health and social care for 5 years. I have an NVQ 3 in Health and Social Care and recently completed an NVQ 3 in Supporting Teaching and Learning.
Ann Fitch - Support Worker
As a project worker at Beyond the Wall, I am responsible for supporting people with everyday living skills, promoting independence and equality.
I have been working in the health and social care settings for the last 30 years, during this time I have attended various training courses, I have been working at Beyond the Wall for the past 5 years supporting individual growth.
Sharlene Budd - Finance Officer
As the Finance Officer at Beyond the Wall, I am responsible for the finance of the charity, preparation of all financial statements, payroll, invoices and ensuring financial transactions are properly updated and recorded.
I have 20 years’ experience in finance and have an NVQ in Book Keeping and Accountancy, I have worked for the charity for the past 8 years and carried out numerous training courses over this time.

“Beyond the Wall” is a small independent charity supporting people with mixed disabilities, based in North Suffolk. We provide a safe environment for clients to develop personal and employability skills on and off site, with a strong emphasis on practical skills. We are an accredited progression centre for Suffolk Social Services.
You will have appropriate qualifications and experience in this field, and in managing a team of staff and volunteers.
We are looking to recruit a highly motivated individual and innovative Day Service Manager to lea our accredited and progressive Day Service. Our primary aim is to support people with mixed disabilities to reach their personal goals, through practical skills training, learning and confidence building look on our website to see the activities & programs we have on offer.
